The Gradian CCV is now available on the Africa Medical Supplies Platform, a new online marketplace that enables African nations to access the critical supplies needed in the battle against COVID-19.
The AMSP is developed under the leadership of African Union (AU) Special Envoy, Strive Masiyiwa, on behalf of the African Union and the Africa CDC in partnership with the African Export-Import Bank and the UN Economic Commission for Africa. The newly launched, innovative platform provides AU member states access one place to procure COVID-19 tests, diagnostic kits, personal protective equipment, and other medical equipment, such as the Gradian Comprehensive Care Ventilator (Gradian CCV), in necessary quantities at competitive price points.
Having vital medical equipment readily available and easily accessible through this single online marketplace could benefit millions of people in need across the continent. Since the pandemic’s start, countries all over the world have experienced a surge in demand for critical medical supplies. The African Union’s solution to addressing these supply shortages has been to develop the AMSP to connect governments directly to vetted manufacturers, suppliers, and strategic procurement partners.
“Through this platform we will address shortages and security of supply, ensure price competitiveness and transparency in procurement, reduce logistical delays, simplify payment processes and provide a common platform where governments can access services from quality and certified suppliers,” stated South African President Cyril Ramaphosa at the launch of the platform in June 2020.
We are proud the Gradian CCV is available on the Africa Medical Supplies Platform to support the national COVID-19 response efforts of African Union member states. Gradian Health Systems has nearly a decade of experience supporting health providers, health facilities, and health systems leverage medical technology to better care for patients, and we continue to use this expertise to support governments during the unprecedented challenges posed by the pandemic.
